MONEY LAUNDERING: UNDERSTANDING THE METHODS AND TECHNIQUES USED BY INDIVIDUALS ENGAGED IN THIS TYPE CRIME
April 29-30, 2008.
This two-day seminar provides a general overview investigators who have been or who anticipate being assigned to a joint task force or other such entity engaged in the realm of narcotics and money laundering enforcement. This program is ideally suited as an introduction or refresher for experienced investigators who would like to enhance their knowledge of this specialized area of law enforcement. A major segment of the program will relate to how groups use proceeds for terrorism funding. Topics include: (1) tracking the movement of illicit drug proceeds; (2) tracing the origin of the proceeds; (3) who receives the proceeds?; (4) where the proceeds eventually terminate and with whom; (5) methods of transporting the proceeds; (6) converting currency to pesos and other foreign exchange; (7) undercover operations; and (8) special schemes used to avoid detection.
