FLORIDA POLICE RECORDS MANAGEMENT: UNDERSTANDING OF AND COMPLIANCE TO THE RULES
March 17-18, 2008

This program is designed specifically for State of Florida law enforcement personnel, whether sworn or civilian, who are assigned to the records unit within their agency. Topics to be covered include, but not limited to: (1) dealing with the public in terms of both public and exempt type records; (2) copying of records; (3) laws and statutes to follow in regard to the handling of your agency records; (4) where to go if you are unsure of an interpretation of the law or if you have questions; (5) fees that are applicable and permissible; (6) handling sealed and/or. expunged records; and (7) rules and regulations regarding retention and destruction in compliance with State of Florida guidelines. Finally, the program will help new records personnel become acquainted with the options available to them to make their job easier and less stressful.
