MANAGING THE COMMUNICATIONS CENTER: PERSPECTIVES ON
THE PROCESS
November 14-15, 2007
An all-new two-day seminar designed specifically
for persons assigned as communication center managers or administrators. The program
goes beyond basic supervisory type topics and focuses on those which administrators
need to know and be able to implement so their units perform at the highest level.
While the program is designed for the new communication center administrator, those
with experience should find the content to be an excellent refresher as well as to
gain insight into new modalities of management. Topics include (1) climate of management
within a communication center; (2) power and politics of managing a communication
center; (3) determining structure and function of the unit; (4) developing personnel
recruitment and screening procedures; (5) administering the background investigation;
(6) formulating and implementing policies and procedures; (7) making assignments
and determining promotion procedure; (8) planning for problems and overcoming them;
(9) developing a cooperating relationship with other communication centers in the
area; and (10) handling media and public relations.
DATE/LOCATION/TIME
Program
will be conducted November 14-15, 2007 at the Sebastian Police Department, 1201 Main
Street in Sebastian, Florida. Class will be in session 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each
day.
FEE
$295 per person. Agencies that enroll three or more personnel
may claim a 15% team discount..

Complete

than November 7, 2007. You may also fax your registration with the appropriate purchase

or purchase order and later find that you cannot attend the program, you must notify
Benchmark Professional Seminars, Inc. at (302) 654-9091 by the same November 7, 2007
date or a refund cannot be processed. Failure to do so will obligate your agency
to pay the registration fee. Substitution may be made at any time, including the
opening session of the program you plan to attend. Mastercard and Visa accepted.

call, advised the clerk that you will be attending a Benchmark Professional Seminar
at the Sebastian Police Department. The number of blocked room is limited. It is
suggested that you make reservations no less than one month prior to the opening
session of the program.
