MANAGING THE POLICE TRAINING OPERATION
October 23-24, 2007
A two-day seminar for either law enforcement or corrections training officers. The seminar will focus on ways to understand the training role and how to better manage a training operation. This is not a course in how to instruct. Instead, it will present ways to improve the training operation from an administrative perspective. Topics include: (1) establishing course objectives; (2) selecting appropriate instructors; (3) criteria for selecting outside vendors for training; (4) sending personnel to training at other locations; (5) record keeping and maintaining training documents; (6) budgeting for training; (7) determining present and future departmental training needs; and (8) planning and improving the field training program. INSTRUCTOR: Chief Phillip Ludos, Cocoa Police Department, Cocoa, Florida.

DATE/LOCATION/TIME: Seminar will be conducted October 23-24, 2007 at the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Police Institute on the campus of Nova Southeastern University, 8585 South West 124 Avenue in Miami, Florida. Specific directions will be provided on confirmation letter. Class will be in session 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.

FEE: $295 per person. Agencies enrolling three or more personnel in this program may claim a 15% team discount.
