BLOOD SPATTER AT THE CRIME SCENE
January 28-29, 2008
A seminar designed for investigators who have had no prior or limited training in understanding bloodstain evidence. Program will provide such individuals with a fundamental and basic understand of blood spatter found at the crime scene and its collection, transportation to the laboratory, and storage. Topics to be covered include: (1) identifying bloodstain patterns low, medium and high velocity, swipes, wipes, and transfers; (2) basic mathematical calculations for the determination of angle of impact; (3) tools needed for measuring stains; (4) documenting bloodstain evidence; (5) basic collection of blood evidence; (6) legal issues concerning bloodstain evidence; (7) collection and transportation of evidence; and (8) case studies illustrating points covered in class. INSTRUCTOR: Detective John M. Santarelli, Homicide Unit, Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, Norristown, Pennsylvania

DATE/LOCATION/TIME: Seminar will be conducted January 28-29, 2008 at the Little Egg Harbor Police Department, 665 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey. Class will be in session 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.

FEE: $295 per person . Agencies enrolling three or more personnel in this seminar may claim a 15% team discount.
