RECOVERY OF HUMAN REMAINS FROM CLANDESTINE GRAVES
November 15-16, 2007
An all-new, two-day seminar which focusing on the recovery of human remains from hidden shallow graves. The program is designed specifically for crime scene personnel and others with a decided interest in gaining a better understanding of the means and technology that need to be applied where exhumation of bodies are required. Topics to be discussed include: (1) search for and locating clandestine graves including the use of cadaver dogs, aerial surveillance, thermal imaging and probes; (2) scene mapping and documentation; (3) botanical, geological and entomological evidence collection and preservation; (4) tools and equipment needed for proper excavation; (5) surface recovery, scatter, and shallow grave recognition; (6) scene preparation including determination of scene size, mapping and exploratory excavation; and (7) animal and insect activity and their effects on human remains. During the second day of the program a short field exercise will be provided so participants should dress appropriately. DATE/LOCATION/TIME: Seminar will be conducted November 15-16, 2007 at the Little Egg Harbor Police Department, 665 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey. Class will be in session 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.

FEE: $295 per person . Agencies enrolling three or more personnel in this seminar may claim a 15% team discount.
