MANAGING THE POLICE TRAINING OPERATION
October 18-19, 2007
A two-day seminar for either law enforcement or corrections training officers. The seminar will focus on ways to understand the training role and how to better manage a training operation. This is not a course in how to instruct. Instead, it will present ways to improve the training operation from an administrative perspective. Topics include: (1) establishing course objectives; (2) selecting appropriate instructors; (3) criteria for selecting outside vendors for training; (4) sending personnel to training at other locations; (5) record keeping and maintaining training documents; (6) budgeting for training; (7) determining present and future departmental training needs; and (8) planning and improving the field training program. INSTRUCTOR: Captain Gregory Warren, Commanding Officer, Delaware State Police Training Academy, Dover, Delaware (retired).

DATE/LOCATION/TIME: Seminar will be conducted October 18-19, 2007 at the Fort Myer Military Community Police Department, Building 415, 108 Sheridan Avenue, Fort Myer, Virginia. Class will be in session 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m..each day.

FEE: $295 per person. Agencies enrolling three or more personnel in this program may claim a 15% team discount.
