ASSESSING DECEPTION OR HONESTY THROUGH BODY LANGUAGE
March 30-31, 2011
Individuals under the stress of questioning often reveal involuntary behaviors that a perceptive interrogator might use to assess deceptive responses as opposed to honest ones. This program will provide the instruction and demonstrations to give participants skills to read outward physical reactions which might indicate honesty or deception. Topics covered during this program include: (1) how messages are transmitted through physical as well as verbal means; (2) why body reactions often mean more than just what is said; (3) changes in behavior often forecast shifts in attitudes of the person being interviewed; (4) becoming adept in detecting deception; and (5) limitations of body language as cues to deception or indications of honesty. NOTE: This is a basic, introductory seminar on body language for persons who have had no formal training on the topic. INSTRUCTOR: Sergeant Andrew Aninsman, Special Victims Unit, Bensalem Police Department, Bensalem, Pennsylvania

DATE/LOCATION/TIME: Program will be conducted March 30-31, 2011 at the Public Safety Education and Training Center, 6852 4th Street in Sykesville, Maryland. Class will be in session 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

FEE: $295 per person.
