An all-new, two-day
seminar for persons new or with little experience in overseeing their agency's recruitment
process. The program is ideal for those who have taken the previously offered, "pre-employment
background investigation" seminar. It goes beyond that program's content to
explore in-depth important aspects and topics specifically concerned with the recruiting
and hiring of suitable candidates for departmental openings. Topics include: (1)
the changing workforce in the United States; (2) federal hiring law and EEC guidelines;
(3) management strategies for staffing and supervising a recruitment unit; (5) using
the Internet; (6) sample advertisements and scripts; (7) minority hiring and affirmative
action programs; and (8) experiences of successful and unsuccessful recruitment campaigns.
INSTRUCTOR: Captain John Yeomans, Former Commanding Officer, Human Resources
Unit, Delaware State Police, Dover, Delaware.
DATE / LOCATION / TIME
Seminar
will be conducted on January 17-18, 2008 at the Dover City Police Department, 400
South Queen Street in Dover, Delaware. Class will be in session 8:30 a.m. to 4:00
p.m. each program day.
FEE:
$295 per person. Agencies enrolling
three or more personnel in this program are entitled to claim a 15% team discount.

Failure to do so will obligate your agency to pay the registration fee. Substitution
may be made at any time, including the opening session of the program. Mastercard
