POLICE RECRUITMENT: MANAGING THE PROCESS
September 17-18, 2007
An all-new, two-day seminar for persons new or with little experience in overseeing their agency's recruitment process. The program is ideal for those who have taken the previously offered, "pre-employment background investigation" seminar. It goes beyond that program's content to explore in-depth important aspects and topics specifically concerned with the recruiting and hiring of suitable candidates for departmental openings. Topics include: (1) the changing workforce in the United States; (2) federal hiring law and EEC guidelines; (3) management strategies for staffing and supervising a recruitment unit; (5) using the Internet; (6) sample advertisements and scripts; (7) minority hiring and affirmative action programs; and (8) experiences of successful and unsuccessful recruitment campaigns.

INSTRUCTOR
Chief Phillip Ludos, Cocoa Police Department, Cocoa, Florida. Chief Ludos is a highly experience law officer agent with extensive administrative and training background with agencies in Michigan and Florida. He has served in various capacities within police organizations, including recruitment, and has extensive background as a trainer and facilitator of seminars at various agencies.

DATE/LOCATION/TIME
Seminar will be conducted on September 17-18, 2007 at the Cocoa Police Department, 1226 West King Street in Cocoa, Florida. Class will be in session 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

FEE
$295 per person. Agencies enrolling three or more personnel in this program are entitled to claim a 15% team discount.
