NEW CRIMINAL INVESTIGATORS' INSTITUTE
August 20-22, 2007
A three-day program for new criminal investigators or persons who will be assigned to investigate criminal offenses. Topics include: (1) identification of crime scene elements; (2) canvassing for suspects and witnesses; (3) sources of information; (4) interviewing and interrogating witnesses and suspects; (5) line-ups and other means of identifying suspects; (6) legal rights of suspects; (7) specific person and property crimes that justify investigation; (8) major cases: homicide and sex crimes; (9) controlled substance crimes; (10) preparing for court; (11) importance of the investigator-prosecutor relationship; (12) investigator on the stand; and (13) closing the case.

DATE/LOCATION/TIME: Seminar will be conducted on August 20-22, 2007 at the Hallandale Beach Police Department, 400 South Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach, Florida. Class will be in session 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.

FEE: $350 per person. Agencies enrolling three or more in this program are entitled to claim a 15% team discount.
